James Arthur Allen, age 69, Russellville, Alabama, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at his residence.
He lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Russellville. He was a deacon for many years at Jonesboro Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard for six years and was a trade school instructor where he taught auto body and frame work. He was retired from Superior Alignment.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2014, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Jonesboro Baptist Church, Russellville. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Daniel Welborn and Gerald Howard officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Holden Allen, Russellville; children, Doug Allen, Florence, Susan Allen Britnell, Russellville, Brian Allen, Russellville; grandson, James David (Jamie) Britnell, Spring Hill College in Mobile; granddaughter, Megan Britnell, Russellville; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Susie Allen; grandparents, Tom and Mary Catherine Allen; infant grandson.
