MSGT James Andrew Cobb, age 72 of Estill Springs, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Jim was born on December 10, 1947 in Waynesboro, Tennessee to the late Arthur and Lurlie Mae (White) Cobb. He retired from the United States Air Force as MSGT where he specialized in munitions systems. Jim loved the Lord, his family, his four-legged best friend Little Joe, and people, and he was a dedicated member of the Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Jim enjoyed motorcycles, boating, and camping, and in his younger years had enjoyed hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Annie Moorehead. Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-three years, Mary Cobb of Estill Springs; daughters, Maria (Michael) Steele of Murfreesboro, and Malinda (Tom) Pitts of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren, Alex Gresham of Panama City, Florida, Dustin (Bria) Gresham of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Amber (Dietrich) Fickes of Murfreesboro, Tommy Pitts of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Michael Pitts of Bella Vista, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Lillian, and Amy; brother, Billy (Joyce) Cobb of Niceville, Florida; sister-in-law, Nancy Andrews of Lynchburg; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 4, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Dr. Michael Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
