James Alvin Gilchrist, age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at West Meade Place in Nashville, TN, after an extended illness. He was a native of Collinwood, TN, retired from Murray Ohio, attended Voice of Victory Temple, and was a member of Scotts Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Leonard “Buck” and Zora Jane Stults Gilchrist.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2017 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Monday, May 22, 2017, with Jason Love officiating. Interment will follow at 5:00 PM at McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood, TN.
