James Alton Cleveland, 81, of Moulton passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be from 12 till 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Larry Lang officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Born on February 14, 1940 to the late Lance and Rosie Landers Cleveland, Sr., Alton was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Moulton and he loved camping.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Faye N. Glover Cleveland; daughters, Joyce Montgomery (Wesley), Leisa Hood, and Sonya Gillespie (Greg); grandchildren, Paul Kirksey (Jamie), Tommy Behm, Leslie Faust (Mitch), Cyndel Robinson (Anthony), Lisa Marie Johnson, Katie Steele (Justin), and Courtney Gillespie; great grandchildren, Hagen Kirksey, AJ Kirksey, Bayden Wood, Ellie Faust, Connor Behm, Alayna Behm, McKinly Robinson, and Braxton Gillespie; and many nieces and nephews.
Alton was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Cleveland, and Lance “Jr.” Cleveland; sisters, Audrey Washburn and Margie Warren.
Pallbearers will be Greg Gillespie, Wesley Montgomery, Katie Steele, Courtney Gillespie, Leslie Faust, Tommy Behm, Anthony Robinson, and Justin Steele.
