Mr. James Allen Maness, age 77, passed away on Wednesday in Jackson. He was born January 12, 1945 in Henderson County to the late Clovis J. and Ruth Davis Maness. He was a well-known and loved self-employed upholstery worker for 55 years in Lexington, a member of Central Grove Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #467, and the Jack Hay Sunday School Class. Mr. Maness was preceded in death by one daughter, Rachel Maness and his brother, Alton Maness.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Mrs. Barbara Belew Maness; his son, Mark C. Maness; his daughter, Gina Brantley (Shane); his step daughters: Debbie Hopper (Greg) and Leslie Powers (Tony); his sister, Ida Myracle (Earl); nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, 4-9 PM, Saturday, 9 AM – 9 PM, and on Sunday, 9 AM until 2 PM.
