James Allen "Jim" HusbandJames Allen “Jim” Husband, 75, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his residence in Seymour, Tennessee.

 

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Harold Delk officiating. Burial will follow in Delk Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Born September 16, 1946 in Illinois, he was the son of the late William Husband and the late Arlene Frey Husband. He was a 1971 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Having various jobs over the years, Mr. Husband had worked for Weakley Farmers Co-op as a manager, US Agrichemical where he was the supervisor of 5 stores, Union City Crop as manager, and owning a dairy farm in Wisconsin. He also managed a trucking company, was a dispatcher for Teton Trucking, and worked for Home Depot in the Garden Center. Mr. Husband loved woodworking, gardening, and farming. He was a member of Seymour Church of Christ and had served as an Elder in many other churches.

 

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, whom he married November 28, 1968, Barbara Anne Delk Husband; daughter, Kimberly “Kim” Husband (Donnie) Nieman; sons, Jeff (Beth) Husband, Greg (Annie) Husband; brother, William “Bill” (Janet) Husband; grandchildren, Collin Nieman, Cameron Nieman, Kyle Nieman, Clay Nieman, Hadley Husband, Harden Husband, Hudson Husband, Katelyn Husband, Parker Husband, Hollyn Husband, and Maddilyn Husband; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Active pallbearers will be Collin Nieman, Cameron Nieman, Mark Delk, Neil Delk, Steven Delk, and Patrick Rodgers.
