James Allen Collins, 75, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Athens, Alabama. He was born September 11, 1945 to Jessie Allen Collins and Minnie Katherine Kolle Collins.
Mr. James has lived here all his life and was a member of 1st Baptist Church. He was the pastor at two Baptist churches in Giles County. He loved to read and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat Collins; brother, Bruce Collins; in-laws, Walter and Ruth Lewter; step-sister, Shirley Freeman; step-father, Dick Lewter.
He is survived by his son, Jimmy (Missy) Collins of Columbus, IN; daughter, Susan Collins of Ardmore, Alabama; brother-in-law, Dale (Patsy) Lewter of Elkmont, Alabama; 2 nieces and 1 nephew; cousin, Don (Verlin) Collins of Ardmore, AL; special friend, Lois Hargrove of Ardmore, AL; and special family, LaTonya and Mike Crutcher of Athens, AL.
There will be a Graveside Service on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10 AM at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
