James Adrian Allen, 85, of Kossuth, Mississippi went to rest in his eternal home on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born September 25, 1939 to the late John and Georgia Perish Allen in Corinth, Mississippi.
James was an Elder at The Covenant Presbyterian Church in Corinth, Mississippi. He was the owner of Allen’s Grocery in Kossuth. James was a board member for the Kossuth Town Board. Mr. Allen was a volunteer for the Kossuth Fire Department and enjoyed serving in his community. James was known for having a “green thumb” and enjoyed farming, gardening, and flowers. Mr Allen was a dedicated husband to his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Anne Sherard Allen and the proud owner of his cat “Fiesty.”
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by his wife of fifty three years Anne Allen; a sister-in-law, Anita Sherard; a special friend, Mike Dawson; and a special and dedicated caregiver, Syble Thrasher; and his cat, “Fiesty.”
There is a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Sunday, January 5, 2025 beginning at three o’clock in the afternoon at McPeters Funeral Directors in Corinth, Mississippi with Bro. Joe Young and Bro. Alan Parker officiating. The family will accept friends beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon until service time.
