Funeral service for Mr. James Aaron Jones, age 84, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at Shelton Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Maples and Rev. Harold Coomer officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Flintville, TN.
Mr. Jones, who died Friday, July 25, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born January 10, 1930, in Flintville, TN to David Alex Jones and Ada Beatrice Hastings Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Nell Sullivan Jones, his parents, two brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Guess Jones of Decatur; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Jones of Hartselle; one brother, John Hoyt Jones of Decatur; four sisters, Eloise Pruett of Chicago, IL, Bobbie Joyce Moore of Punta Gorda, FL, Emily Lois Edge of Atlanta, GA, and Doris McGinnish of Atlanta, GA; and one grandson, Patrick Walsh of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
