Jacqueline “Jackie” Vernon Howell, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 9, 2017, at her home in Russellville.

Ms. Howell was a native of Russellville where she had lived all of her life. She enjoyed a successful career as a hair dresser and had most recently retired in 2016 from North American Lighting. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ, Russellville. A graduate of Russellville High School, she also graduated from vocational- cosmetology school.

Visitation for Ms. Howell will be tonight from 5 to 8 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Services will be held on the following day, Feb. 14, 2017, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Pinkard Funeral Home. Officiating will be Johnny Richardson. Burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, also in Russellville. Pallbearers are Mark Williams, Brandon Wood, Don Garrard, Jimmy Green, Donnie Miller, Robert Smith. Honorary pallbearers are James Baker and James I. Vernon.

Survivors include Ms. Howell’s son Jason Howell and wife, Jennifer of Winchester, Tennessee. Siblings include Stanley Vernon (Gloria) of Amory, Mississippi; Carol Hubbard and Doug Vernon, both of Russellville. A niece, April Hubbard, also survives her.

Preceding her in death were Ms. Howell’s parents Fred and Agnes Scruggs Vernon.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt “thank you” to Tabitha and Kevin with Alacare Hospice, Lorain Baker, Marie Hargett, and Jayne Wells.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
