He is survived by his parents, John and Tiki Hubbard; one brother, John Paul Hubbard; dear aunts, uncles and cousins, and girlfriend, Katie Amos. He also leaves behind his “rent a dogs,” Hank and Amos.

Jake graduated from Austin High School in 2005, received a Bachelor’s in Science degree from Athens State University in 2014, and was employed by Whole Sale Pump and Supply. For a young man, Jake’s business development skills far exceeded his age. His skills and abilities in the pump and water well industry will be greatly missed. He was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church of Decatur.

Hubz’s hobbies included boating, music, spending time with friends on the Tennessee River, deep sea fishing, hunting, and Auburn football. He is best remembered for his gregarious and outgoing personality, his contagious laugh, love for his friends and family, and his love for life.

Jake was a beloved son, brother, and nephew, and had many friends of all ages and walks of life. Special friends included Abby Vest, Peyton Johnson, and Savanne Hammond.

In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations in his name to his favorite organizations Ducks Unlimited or Alabama Wildlife Federation. Checks can be mailed to 1607 Eastwood Drive, SE, Decatur, AL 35601.

Honorary pallbearers ae John Paul Hubbard, Nathan Hulsey, Richard Wilder, Patrick Cordes, Chris Story, Caleb Story, Jackson Gamble, Kevin Grotlisch, Paul Hughes, Jody Whitt, Tommy Backe, Brent Burnthall, and Tyron Newton.
