JackieJackie Ray Hicks, 83 of Haleyville, entered into rest Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Russellville Hospital.

He was born June 9, 1929 in Coles County, Illinois. Jackie served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He and his wife owned and operated a flower pot business for 30 plus years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 6-9pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1pm. Pastor Fay Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara A. Hicks; sons, Clifford Ray (Sharon) Hicks of Cabot, Arkansas, Anthony (Monika) Hicks of Illertissen, Germany; daughters, Ramona (Cecil) Willis of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Tracy Lauderdale of Haleyville, Alabama, Tammy (Joe) Hulsey of Haleyville, Alabama; sisters, Shirley Johnson of Tucson, Arizona, Marie (Don) Snover of Tucson, Arizona, and Phillis Douglass of Benson, Arizona. He was “Grandpa” to 14 grandchildren, Amy (James) Lang, Jennifer (Dan) Menden, Ryan Hicks, Christy Hicks, Jessie (Steffen) Rauhut, Emily Hicks, Ellen (Jeremy) Godsey, Lisa Miller, Justin Lauderdale, Samantha (Michael) Parker, Wenona (John) Kirk, Chrissy (Bryan) Henderson, Johnathon (Megan) Gay, Megan (Mark) Rickard, and 13 great grandchildren, Hannah Lang, Haydon Lang, Birley Menden, Jayda Hicks, Kaitlyn Jo Rauhut, Andrew Miller, Gavin Godsey, Logan Godsey, Nicholas Parker, Destiny Hallmark, Eli Hallmark, Zeke Miller, Kadyn Henderson, and on the one way.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Hicks; mother, Madge Hicks; and brother, Robert Hicks.
