Jackie passed quietly and peacefully in her Madison, Mississippi home at age 91. She was born in Rogersville, Alabama to Florence Mae and Emmit O’Neal Davis. She lived a fruitful life with her beloved husband, Joe Henry Cotten Jr. and daughters, Lisa Harris and Laurie Noble, and was blessed with grandchildren, Katie and Matt Noble and Mary Leslie Pajarillaga and great-grandchildren, Judah, Asa, and Eleanor (Nora) Pajarillaga. Her siblings were Artheal Eaton, Cortez Davis, Austerlean Alexander, Hazel Thornton, Oplen and Millard and Delmer Davis.
She attended the Memphis Academy of Arts and opened women’s clothing stores in New Albany, Tupelo, Ridgeland, and Jackson, MS named The Cottenhopper. She attended the Presbyterian Church in New Albany and later Highlands Presbyterian Church in Madison, MS. As a landscape artist, she featured trees in intricate detail, design, and color.
She is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, in-laws.
