Jack Wesley Anglea Sr., 85 of Hartselle, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, peacefully at his home. Visitation will be Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 12:30PM-1:30PM at Peck Funeral Home followed by a celebration of life service at 1:30PM in the Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
Jack was born on January 9, 1940, in Falkville, Alabama to Mr. and Mrs. John W. Anglea. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1958. He was very proud to have served in the Army where he spent most of his time in the Panama Canal Zone and was later honorably discharged. He worked for the Civil Service for over 25 years before retiring, went on to sell cars for over 10 years, and finally wrapped up his working years by driving a school bus for 10 plus years. Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, boating with his family, coaching ball teams of all types, but his favorite was Crappie fishing on the Tennessee River.
He was a Member of Johnson Chapel Methodist Church.
Jack loved the Lord and it showed in ever aspect of his life. Over the years, he was always active in his church including helping underprivileged children, letting missionaries stay in his home, helping gospel groups set-up and take down their equipment after singing at the church and assisting with Communion. Jack was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandra, his four children, Tammy Pickens (Ronnie), Jimmy Anglea (Jane), Christy Faulk (Phil), and Jack Anglea, Jr. (Laura); and six grandchildren; Kayla Faulk Smith (Zach), Sara Faulk, Will Anglea, Mary Alice Anglea, Alan Anglea, and Lee Ellen Anglea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother John Jr.
