Jack Thomas Sowell, Jr, 82, retired from Roberson Security and resident of Nashville, died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Waters of Smyrna.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Santa Fe Cemetery with Jerry Elder officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements and condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born June 4, 1938 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Jack Thomas Sowell, Sr. and the late Jessie Pigg Sowell. Mr. Sowell was a 1956 graduate of Columbia Military Academy. He married Mary Evelyn Christy Sowell who preceded him in death September 11, 2002. Mr. Sowell served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his stepson, Marvin Jones, Jr. of Nashville; step grandson, Marty Jones of Madison; and several step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Thurston Sowell.
