Jack Richardson Marett of Huntsville, AL, went to be with his Savior on September 23, 2019. He was born November 6, 1938 in Hartwell, GA to Aubrey and Mary Marett. He spent his formative years in Hartwell, GA and in Macon, GA, where he graduated high school in 1956. From there he joined the Air Force and served for four years. After his service, he married Brenda Massengale and they celebrated 55 years together. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1968 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for engineering firms in Florida and at Warner Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA. In 1979, he and his family relocated to Huntsville, AL and he worked for Teledyne Brown Engineering, EER Systems, L3 and PPT.

He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Massengale Marett; his grandparents, Sinclair and Edna Richardson; his father, Aubrey Marett, and mother, Mary Richardson Althausen; and his brother, Bobby Marett. Mr. Marett is survived by his daughter, Merri (Attilio) Marett Baldassi of Snellville, GA; son, Alan (Laurie) Richardson Marett of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Savannah (David) Marett Herder, Grace Marett, Aidan Jack Baldassi, Emma Baldassi, Kieran Baldassi, and Aubrey Marett. Additionally, he is survived by two sisters, Sara Jean Bennor of Brunswick, GA and Carol Walters of Athens, GA; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitesburg Baptist Church Missions in Jack’s name.
