Mr. Jack McLemore, age 89 of Vernon, AL, passed away Friday, October 16, at Generations of Vernon.

Mr. McLemore was born July 3, 1931, in Sulligent, AL, to the late Sam and Pearlie McLemore.  He was a truck driver, and was married to the late Helene McLemore.  Mr. McLemore was also preceded in death by his son, Jackie McLemore; his daughter, Clara Sue Clanton, and her husband, Lloyd Clanton; five sisters, Ann Rogers, Mary Lou Bookout, Ruth Egger, Sammie Gunnels, and Dorothy Warren; and four brothers, Frank McLemore, Ewin McLemore, Mac McLemore, and Paul McLemore.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 21, at 1:00 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Wade Peoples officiating.  Burial will follow in the Crews Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 12:00-1:00 prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Shawn McLemore, Scott McLemore, Kevin Clanton, Haigan Scott, Jason Landers, and Steven Pace.  Honorary pallbearers will be Race McLemore, Mitt Landers, and Lee Akers.

Survivors include his son, Larry (Dianne) McLemore, of Vernon, AL; six grandchildren, Natasha (Steven) Pace, Shawn (DeShana) McLemore, Tangi (Jason) Landers, Scott McLemore, Kevin Clanton, and Joanna Bridges, nine great-grandchildren, Rylee, Haigan, Race, Mitt, MacKinnlee, Baze, Emma, Emmy, and Jessie; and one sister, Mellie (Charles) Nolen.
