Mr. Jack Emmerson Owens, age 81, died on Monday, September 16, 2024, at his home in Hollywood. He was a member of the Echota Cherokee of Alabama and of the Masonic Lodge of Hollywood, Mr. Owens was best known for his outgoing personality. A graduate of Scottsboro High School, he retired as an insurance salesman after decades of service with Independent Life and Mutual Savings.

He is survived by a son, Jason Owens of Hollywood, a daughter, Crystal Owens Christoff (Richard) of Madison, Va., grandsons Samuel and Owen Christoff, and a slew of loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frances Malcolm Owens, his parents, James and Mary Owens, and three beautiful sisters.

Mr. Owens was an avid volunteer with the Shiners Hospitals for Children. In lieu of flowers, donations can also be made through shrinerschildrens.org.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home. The interment will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
