Mr. Cheatwood was a native of Lawrence County, TN, manager at WDXE radio station, a United States Naval Veteran serving during the Vietnam era, and of the Baptist faith. He was a former chairman for the board of the Lawrenceburg Utility Department, a board member at Lawrenceburg Federal Bank, former director of Lawrenceburg Main Street, and a member of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. He was named citizen of the year in 1998. He was one of the founders of the James D. Vaughn museum and directed and organized the Main Street Heritage Festival for many years. He was a long time radio personality in Lawrence County at WDXE radio station. He owned and operated Taylor Made Productions television network. Namesake for the Lawrence County High School football stadium press box where he was the voice of the wildcats for over 40 years. Survivors include: Wife- Betsy Hale Cheatwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; Son- Jackson Taylor Cheatwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; Daughter- Anne Claire Cheatwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; Mother- Barbara Plunkett Cheatwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; Brother- Jay Cheatwood of Lawrenceburg, TN; Sister- Donna Cone of Lawrenceburg, TN; The Funeral Service will be officiated by Jeff Vanlandingham, Herschel Lake, & Mike Harris. Burial to follow in Mimosa Cemetery.
