J.W. (Pete) Rainey – Obituary

J. W. (Pete) Rainey of Adamsville, TN formerly of Center Point Community J.W. (Pete) Rainey was born July 26, 1927 in Chester County, TN the son of the late John and Lona Tucker Rainey.

Mr. Rainey was a lifelong resident of Center Point Community. He worked at Harwood and Garan Manufacturing, serving as chairman of the Ladies Garment Workers Union. He left factory work in 1973 and started farming. He was a very skilled farmer and gardener. He took great pride in his crops and gardens.

Mr. Rainey served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was baptized into the church of Christ.

Mr. Rainey departed this life on November 24, 2018 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 3 Months, 29 Days. He is survived by
a son, Terry Rainey and wife Samantha of Adamsville, TN; two grandchildren, Wesley Rainey, Karenna Rainey.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth D. Rainey; two brothers, Leo and Freeman Rainey; a sister, Fairey Jones.

Private Graveside Services were held on November 24, 2018 at Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tennessee.
