J.T. Carr, age 84, of Florence, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015.
Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oakgrove Pentecostal Church with Brother Steve Bender officiating. He will lie in state at the church from noon-2 p.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
J.T. was a native of Detroit, Michigan, and was a member of Oakgrove Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Carr and parents, Erbie and Hettie Carr.
He is survived by sons, Jay, Lonnie, Joey and Scottie Carr; daughter, Shelaine Jones; brother, Erbie Carr; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Benny Parrish, Tim Jones, Cody Jones, Brandon Carr, Shane Thompson and Mike Durham.
