Mr. J T Cabaniss, 87, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., passed away April 9, 2013; the day of his birth. Born on April 9, 1926, JT was raised in Tuscumbia, Ala.
A member of Grace Episcopal Church in Sheffield, Ala., JT had many friends in all three Episcopal churches in the Tri-Cities. JT Cabaniss was RMCS United States Navy, retired, serving from 1943-1965.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Cabaniss; and grandchild, Jeffrey Cabaniss.
JT and Phyllis met in Washington, D.C. in 1946. Both were in the Navy and married after a 28 day engagement. They were both wonderful and loving parents.
JT Cabaniss is survived by sons, Christopher H. and wife, Edith; Michael W. and special angel, Gracie, Russell L. and wife, Laura; daughter, Donna Cabaniss Bugg and husband, Phillip; and loving dog companion, Katie. Mr Cabaniss has eight grandchildren, Matthew Cabaniss and wife, Jeannie, Rachel Cabaniss, Melanie Vick and husband, Michael, Emilee Stansell, Paige Cabaniss, Dr. Brian Cabaniss, Lauren Cabaniss, Lucas Stansell and wife-to-be, Elizabeth; and three great-grandchildren, Mollie Vick, Riley Stansell and Lily Cabaniss.
