J. O. Purcell, Jr., age 79, of Leoma, TN passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, retired from Reynolds Aluminum, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of American Legion Post 146 and Leoma Baptist Church. Mr. Purcell served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lena Coleman Purcell; his wife, Shelby Barnett Purcell; and one brother, Ralph Purcell.

Betty Jo Copeland (Ted), Petersburg, MI
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2014. Interment will follow at Purcell Cemetery in Leoma, Tennessee with full military honors. Family suggests memorials be made to Leoma Baptist Benevolence Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
