Funeral service for J.L. Screws, 69, will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hale and Rev. Harlan Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Etha Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Screws died on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born July 5, 1948, in Herd County, Georgia, to Frank Benjamin Screws and Fannie Mae Hannah Screws. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and was employed by Asplundh Tree Service as a Foreman prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
