Ivalee DarmerOn September 15, 2025 Ivalee Darmer of Arab, Alabama went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Born on March 23, 1926, in the Rock Springs Community of Blount County, Alabama, she was the daughter of Curtis Fletcher and Dovie Mount Hipp.

Mrs. Darmer was known for her boundless love, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Her faith was central to her life, and she cared deeply for her family. While she devoted much of her life to being a homemaker, she also worked at Kraft Foods in Birmingham, as well as at SCI and Syncro. She found joy in tending her yard and preparing meals for family and friends.
Ivalee attended Blountsville School for most of her education and graduated from Altoona High School. She also furthered her studies at Jacksonville State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Dovie Hipp; her beloved husband, James (Jim) Darmer; grandson, M. Adam Dew; sister, Lavada Miller; and nephews, Randy Parker and Russ Darmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Darmer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Catherine) Darmer, Ben (Sue) Darmer, Terry Byrom, Dorothy (Rodney) Geno, James Byrom; nieces and nephews, Brenda Foote, Roger (Harriet) Miller, Kevin Darmer, Suzanne Darmer, Cynthia Parker, Tina Jordan, Stan (Tammy) Parker, and Jamie Byrom; chosen granddaughter, Savanna Jones; along with a host of great nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, with burial at Rock Springs Cemetery in Blount County. Brother Gary McRae will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Kevin Darmer, Jay Hipp, Wesley Hipp, Brian Neal, Jason Miller, and Stan Parker.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Cullman Health and Rehabilitation Center and Aveanna Hospice for their compassionate care. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is directing the arrangements.
