Isaiah Devin Curry was born August 5, 2003 in Huntsville, Alabama to Cynthia Steele Hereford and Corey Curry. He departed this life on June 17, 2024. He is the youngest of three children. Preceding him in death was his oldest brother, Desmund Jones. He confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined St. Luke Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor T. C. Johnson.
Today we pay tribute to our beloved son and grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Anyone who knew Isaiah would tell you he was always respectful, was driven to succeed, and never caused any trouble. He was a pleasure to meet. He was compassionate, respectful, considerate, helpful and always smiling.
AS STATED BY HIS ROOMMATE, Jesse Miles Sledge, at Motlow Junior College: “Every time Isaiah came around, he always had a huge smile on his face that he wouldn’t let anyone take away from him. He was always bringing positive energy no matter what and no one could tell him anything that was not positive. As well as that, Isaiah always believed in me no matter what, it didn’t matter what it was and anytime he did something whether it was going to get something to eat or going out, he always wanted his brothers with him. All he wanted was to succeed in life with the ones he loved! I Love You Isaiah Curry! Sincerely, Your Brother!” And then Miles called back and said, “One thing I missed was that Isaiah was authentic, he always kept it real and told the truth good or bad!” Isaiah graduated from Mae Jemison High School. In his senior year at Mae Jemison, Isaiah received the All State Basketball Award, MVP Award, his high school diploma, a basketball scholarship to Motlow State Community College in Tullahoma, TN, and was granted another scholarship to Fisk University in Nashville, TN for this upcoming fall in which he was looking forward to.
