Irma Sue Holland, age 83, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born on June 21, 1942, in Trinity, Alabama, to John Thomas Lambert and Irma Lee Williams Lambert.
Irma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest joys in life were her family and the love she shared with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Holland; her parents, John and Irma Lambert; four brothers; and one sister.
Irma is survived by her four sons: Oscar Mack (Lynne) Gates Jr., Allen Oneal Gates, Dane Thomas (Hannah) Gates, and Shane Michael (Rhonda) Gates; grandchildren: Kaylyn (Joseph) Lewis, Jarrad (Alyssa) Gates, Sarah Tait, Azalee Gates, and Andalyn Gates; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donnie (Bernice) Lambert.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Decatur Brown Service Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Doug Colwell officiating. Irma will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday.
