Irma L. Young was born September 6, 1929 in Brookhaven, MS the daughter of the late Lige and Stella Smith.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd H. Young Sr. on September 25, 1962. Mr. Young preceded her in death on November 22, 2010. She worked as a cook at several of McNairy County’s restaurants. She enjoyed going to yard sales and visiting with family and friends. She was baptist in faith.
Mrs. Young departed this life on February 7, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 5 Months, 1 Day. She is survived by three sons, Bill S. Young of Selmer, TN, Lamar and Paul Lee Turnage both of Texas; a daughter, Debbie DeClark of Detroit, MI; sister, Ilene Lawrence of Liberty, MS; sister-in-law, Bobbie Latta of Selmer, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Hayes (Gomer) Young Jr.; a daughter, Ruby Turnage; and 7 siblings.
