Billy Wayne Aday Billy Wayne Aday of Cherokee, Alabama, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025. He was 80 years old. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26 at Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral will be Thursday, March 27 in the chapel at 2:00pm with Greg Corble officiating. Burial will be in New Barton Cemetery.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Aday; mother, Carrie Mae Nichols Aday; brothers, Buford, George, James, John, Jackson, Howard, Orville Aday; sisters, Mary Virginia Gasque, Faye Wilkes; grandchildren, Matthew Nix, William Strickland; great-granddaughter, Maci Aday; special brother-in-law, Leonard William Speegle and son-in-law, Melvin Nix.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Speegle Aday; children, Jeff Aday (Chellie), Barry Aday, Len Aday, Steven Aday (Teresa), Amy Aday, Betsy Strickland (Eddie), Stephanie Ponder; brothers, Russell Aday (Sharon), Ernie Aday; sisters, Bessie Speegle, Brenda Jackson, Barbara Jones; grandchildren, Jordan Aday, Kinsley Smith (Jake), Savanna Cole, Anthony Aday (Melody), Jamie Strickland, Tyler Strickland, Melissa Nix, Jason Aday, Cory Aday, Tiffany Wise; 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Billy worked in construction as a tile-setter and was a member of Shoals Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The family wishes special thanks to Sharon Michael (sister-in-law), Debbie Thompson (niece), Dr. Herman Teachey, Dr. Heather Brody, and Enhabit Hospice for their kindness, care, and support throughout his journey!

Pallbearers will be Steven Aday, Jordan Aday, Blake Aday, Anthony Aday, Jake Smith, Jay Foster, Tyler Strickland, and Jamie Strickland.
