Iris Wright Stanton  Iris Gail Roe Wright Stanton, 87 passed away Saturday February 1, 2025, after a lengthy illness at the home of her daughter, who lives here in Arab. Mrs. Stanton was born June 15, 1937, in Marshall County, Alabama, the daughter of George Roe and Susie Denney Roe. She was raised in the Grassy Community and was a graduate of Arab High School, Class of 1955 and a former resident of New Market, Alabama. As her health permitted, she was a devoted member of the Mount Oak Methodist Church in the Ruth Community. Mrs. Stanton was a Long-Term Care Nurse/CNA; she loved her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, traveling, music, BBQ, Dairy Cream ice cream and shopping with her daughters. She also enjoyed her animals, gardening and was a person with a heart of gold.

Iris is survived by her children: Dennis Wright, Kathy Wright (Michael Gregory), Jason Wright and Susan Boone; four grandchildren: Rachel Gail Wright Wilson, Alan Joesph Boone, Julia Wright Stepp and Ashleigh Wright Mosely; four great grandchildren: Screnity Gomez Boone, Kason Emily Peyton, Screintey Harper and Elija Eva Grace Stepp; several other relatives, her church family and many dear friends and neighbors and was preceded in death by husband, H. L. Wright (1976) and husband, George Stanton (2006), children: David Wright, Retha Wright and Edward Wright; her parents: George and Susie Roe.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 5, 2025, at Gober Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Oak/Ruth Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel, directing

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. on also Wednesday February 5 at Gober Funeral Chapel.
