Irene W. Kerby – Obituary

Mrs. Irene W. Kerby, 84, of Town Creek, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Cottage of the Shoals.

She was a native of Colbert County but resided in Lawrence County most of her life. She was a member of Roden Freewill Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held today at Elliott Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with visitation from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Jeremy Kerby and Ashley Crisler are officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Kerby, grandson, Frankie Crisler, parents, Kumpy and Virgie Waldrep, brothers, Curtis Waldrep, Howard Waldrep, and Hubert Waldrep, and sister, Martha Odell.

She is survived by daughter, Judy (Greer) Crisler, Town Creek; son, Wayne (Debbie) Kerby, Hatton; grandchildren, Athena (Shane) Harrison, Wolf Springs, Greta (Matt) Cooper, Russellville, Alabama, Ashley (Emily) Crisler, Spring Valley, Jeremy (Jennifer) Kerby, Rogersville, Leslie (Jamie) Hammell, Rogersville, and Joshua Kerby, Athens; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Robbie) Waldrep and Jimmy Waldrep, Leighton; and sisters, Ruby Cole, Oregon, Cammalia Gipson, Michigan, Betty Vinson, Tuscumbia, and Brenda Irons, Cullman.

The last years of her life she enjoyed piecing quilt tops. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
