Irene Schwartz Jones, age 92 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on July 29, 1930, to the late George and Ada (Brandon) Schwartz. Irene was a dedicated homemaker and helped tend to the jobs on the farm. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening, working jigsaw puzzles, and reading. She was musically talented, playing the piano and singing, and was a member of the Family Quartet, “The Schwartz Sisters.” Irene was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church of Jesus in Winchester Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Allene Sells, Rosena Schwartz, Katherine Lewis, Olpha Schwartz, Mary Lowhorn, G.A. Schwartz, Ada Smith, Sue Sells, Lucinda Bishop, and Freida Stafford. Irene is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, David A. Jones; daughters, Charlotte (Terry) Jones of Estill Springs, and Shirley (Chris) Walker of Winchester; grandchildren, Jonathan (Melissa) Jones, Kayla (Ryan) Dye, Daniel Walker, Andrea Walker, and Jacob Walker; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Jones and Morgan Jones; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Mark Turner and Bro.
