Ms. Irene Langford, affectionately known as “Tiny” went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2024. She was born in Limestone County Alabama to the Union of Deacon Horace Langford and Mother Louvenia Fletcher Langford on October 6, 1932. Her parents, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
Irene Langford was educated in the Limestone County Alabama and Huntsville Alabama City Schools System. She worked for Huntsville Hospital and the Huntsville City Schools System, a serial entrepreneur, Irene owned several small businesses. One of her favorite passions was visiting weekly yard sales. She was well known for her delicious pudding pies, smoked ham, and potato salad recipes.
Irene confessed belief in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Greenbriar, Alabama under the leadership of Reverend Wille E. Owens. She later transferred her membership to Saint James Primitive Baptist Church, in Huntsville, Alabama where she was a member of the Usher Board and a regularly active member until her health began to fail. During the time of her failing health, her pastor and church members would visit and worship with her at home.
Irene was married to the late Perry Caudle, Sr. for over 30 years. She leaves to cherish her memory twelve children: Henry Bradley (Chris), Larry Langford, Agrippa Caudle Sherrell, Veronica Caudle, Roderick Caudle (Sabrina), Billy Caudle, Youlanda Caudle (William), Kevin Caudle (Candice) all of Huntsville, Alabama, Perry Caudle, Jr, Charlotte, North Carolina, Naomi Aina (Abi) of Seattle, Washington, Brett Caudle (Bernadette) of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Williams of Bell Mina, Alabama, Mattie Vance of Athens, Alabama; a sister-in-law, Bernestine Langford of Chattanooga, Tennessee; 30 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Irene L. Langford will be 12:00 noon, Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Saint Bartley Primitive Baptist Church (3020 Belafonte Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35816) with Elder Patrick Arrington as eulogist and Pastor Jaymes Mooney officiating. Interment will be in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Langford will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
The Langford family will receive guests from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
Public viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024, and 8:30 until 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Royal Funeral Home.
