Irene B. Jones Holland age 95 of Athens, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Holland was born September 1, 1922 in Limestone County, AL to Turner B. Biggerstaff and Nina Lou Street Biggerstaff.
Services will be Monday, July 23, 2018 3:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Robert Fudge and Donnie Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Holland was a member of Pepper Road Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Shields Jones and Roy Holland; granddaughter, Kim Jones; brothers, James Biggerstaff and Walter Biggerstaff: sisters, Sara Walton and Margaret Thomas step-son, Raymond Holland.
Survived by one daughter, Betty Wales and husband, Thomas; two sons, Larry Jones and wife, Janice and Phillip Jones and wife, Betty; two step-daughters, Phyllis Hillis and Karen Bird; one step-daughter-in-law, Karen Holland; four grandchildren, Jan Wales Sanborn, Jeff Wales and wife, Julie, Amy Reynolds and husband, Robert and Nicole Jones; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Broadway; one brother, Charles Biggerstaff.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Wales, Earl Biggerstaff, Clay Wales, Zach Horn, Matt Sanborn and Andrew Horn. Honorary pallbearers will be Sara Wales, Jessica Sanborn and Joshua Reynolds
