Mrs. Irelle Dunning Vann, age 88, went to be with her Lord on February 8, 2026, surrounded by family. Services will be held at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia on Saturday, February 14, at 1:00 p.m. with Doc Shell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield.
Irelle was a member of Christ Chapel and Grace Church. She was a devoted follower of Jesus and lived a life of service to the Lord.
Irelle was born in Dothan, Alabama, on January 29, 1938. She was a graduate of Sheffield High School class of ’56. She attended Stetson University on a voice scholarship and as a young child, she sang on the radio with Minnie Pearl. God blessed her with a beautiful voice and she used it for His glory at many Easter sunrise services, weddings, and funerals.
In 1978, Irelle was one of the founders of Sidelines Ltd. Jewelry Store in Florence and was actively involved for seventeen years. It is still a successful business today. Irelle was one of the founders and a board member of Shoals Christian School. She served on the board of Riverbend Center for Mental Health and was a member of the Muscle Shoals District Service League.
Irelle was generous, funny, and joyful. She loved and served the Lord and was a prayer warrior who devoted many hours in prayer with her Savior. Irelle was a bright light to all who knew her and was proof that there really are angels on earth.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Donald Lee Vann; and her parents, Otha Howard Dunning and Sally Dunning White.
Irelle is survived by her three loving daughters, Tamera Lambert (Lee), Vicki Moon (Darue), and Kimberly Vann; grandchildren, Brandon Gillis, Bradley Gillis (Bethany), Britney Lambert (Shun), and Trey Lambert (Alyssa); as well as twelve great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edward Moore, Dr. Edsel Holden, Kelly, Janice, and Jessie for their kindness and loving care for our mom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Restoration Ranch, P.O. Box 767, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
