Irean Young Meade, age 68 of Russellville, Alabama passed away at her home following a courageous 22 year battle with cancer.
Irean was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. She was a Christian and a member of First Baptist College Avenue. Irean was a missionary for First Baptist College Avenue and sang in the choir. She was on the MLK Committee and Back to Basics. She was a retired seamstress with H.D. Lee and worked production line at Pilgrim’s Pride.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Meade; siblings Minnie Frances Elliott, Nancy Willingham, Fay Willingham, Mary Jo Beacher, Arlita (LeeLee) White, Melvin (Ruby) Young, Robert Earl Young, Thomas Young, Terry Young, Jerry Young; granddaughter and apple of her eye, Jerica Meade as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Willingham and Annie Pearl Young, brother Charles Willingham Jr., and infant brother John Amos Young.
Visitation will be Thursday August 26, 2021 from 9am until 11am at Pinkard Funeral Home Russellville. The funeral service will be at 11am in the Chapel with burial following at Fairview Cemetery.
