Ira Nell Justice Ellis, 94, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 19, 2024. She was born in Macon County, GA on July 14, 1929, and lived in Oglethorpe, GA until 1980 when she moved to Chattanooga, TN. In 2012 she moved to Florence, AL and resided there until her death.

She was happily married to Doyce Ellis in 1948 for 29 years. She is survived by their four children, Sonny Ellis of Florence, AL, Debbye Ellis of Florence, AL, Chris (Brien) Applewhite of Ooltewah, TN and Jan (Greg) Carnes of Muscle Shoals, AL; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding her death were her husband, Doyce Ellis (1977), and husband, Pervie Nichols (1984), six brothers, one sister, and a precious granddaughter, Melissa Ellis.

Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening…growing flowers, plants and vegetables. She also loved walking, hiking, and being in nature. She loved her family dearly, but her greatest love was God. She read and studied her Bible daily. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and mind. As a Christian she worshipped with the Church of Christ faithfully and was a member at the Cross Point Church of Christ in Florence, AL.

A celebration of her life will be at Williams Funeral Home at 1950 Helton Drive, Florence, AL 35630, Saturday, May 25, 2024.  Visitation will be from 9:30AM-11:00AM with a Celebration of Life following in the chapel at 11:00AM. She will be laid to rest at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Oglethorpe, GA.

Memorial contributions may be made to Missions at Cross Point Church of Christ,1350 Cox Creek Parkway, Florence, AL 35633.

The family would like to express deep appreciation to Hospice of North Alabama, especially to Matt, Katie and Stephanie.  The love shown and care given to our Mother will always be remembered.
