Initial Unemployment Claims For Week Ending 01/30/21

MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Department of Labor released the official count for initial claims filed during the week of January 24 – January 30, 2021.
12,664 initial claims were filed either online or by telephone during this period. 6,362 of those claims are estimated to be COVID-19 related.

Industry sectors with the greatest number of claims are: Industry Not Available (4,565), Manufacturing (1,247), Administrative and Support and Waste (1,160), Retail (1,095), Health Care and Social Assistance (851), Accommodation and Food Services (789), and Construction (560).

 

Jefferson County had the largest number of claims with 1,800.
