LIMESTONE COUNTY – The Limestone County Economic Development Association (LCEDA), Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, and WEDO Media, Inc. is proud to announce the launch of LIMELIGHT Magazine – a new publication created to shine a light on the people, places, and experiences that make Limestone County a remarkable place to live, work, and visit.
The inaugural edition of LIMELIGHT features stories highlighting the unique character of Athens-Limestone County, from its thriving business community and rich history to its growing tourism appeal and quality of life. The magazine serves as a comprehensive guide to what makes this North Alabama community shine.

infrastructure and incentives, but the quality of life and community spirit that make companies want to be here,” said Bethany Shockney, President & CEO of the Limestone County Economic Development Association. “LIMELIGHT does exactly that. It shows prospects what their employees will experience when they choose Limestone County, and that’s a powerful part of our economic development toolkit.”

The magazine represents a strategic collaboration between economic development and tourism leaders who recognized the need for a high-quality publication that would serve multiple audiences – from site selectors and investors to families considering relocation and travelers exploring North Alabama.
“This magazine is a love letter to our local business community and everything they contribute to making Limestone County thrive,” said Pammie Jimmar, President & CEO of the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce. “From our longtime family businesses to exciting new ventures, LIMELIGHT captures the entrepreneurial spirit and sense of possibility that defines who we are.”
The publication’s design and content reflect a commitment to authentic storytelling that goes beyond typical promotional materials. Each page showcases real stories from the community, from longtime residents to new arrivals who have discovered what makes Limestone County unique.
“From the beginning, our goal was to create a publication that felt authentic to Limestone County – one that residents would be proud of and that would give newcomers a real sense of what this community is all about,” said Kelly Caldwell, Founder and Publisher with WEDO Media, Inc. “We’re grateful to work with partners who share that commitment to quality storytelling.”
The inaugural edition features support from more than two dozen local businesses and organizations, including major employers like Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, Athens-Limestone Hospital, and Athens State University, as well as locally owned businesses across the county. Their participation demonstrates the strong sense of community pride that exists throughout Limestone County.
LIMELIGHT Magazine is available digitally at www.lceda.com/living-limestone/magazine, and print copies can be picked up at the Athens-Limestone Tourism office located at 100 N Beaty St, Athens, AL 35611.
