Imogene Askew, 87, of Tuscumbia, passed away, peacefully, at home on May 27, 2018. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 1-3 p.m. at Mhoontown Church. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Dwight Rivers will be officiating. Interment will be at Mhoontown Cemetery.
Imogene was born on Mar. 7, 1931, to the late Richard and Annie Sanderson. She was the youngest daughter of nine children and seven preceded her in death. She married the late James D. Askew on Dec. 11, 1948 and had three daughters. She was a member of Mhoontown Methodist Church for over 60 years. She loved reading her bible, praying with others and her family.
She is survived by daughters, Kay Handley, Gail VonBoeckman (Mike) and Carol Bush; brother, Charles Ray Sanderson; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kelvin Handley, Chris VonBoeckman, Allen Handley, Phillip VonBoeckman, Brad Bush, and David McCafferty. Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Bratton, Sabian Bush, and Zachary Seals.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mhoontown Cemetery fund.
