The funeral service for Ima Jean Williams, 90, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Tim Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams passed away Sunday May 21, 2017, at Decatur Health and Rehab. She was born Feb. 14, 1927, to the late John Edgar and Virgie Williams. She was a retired secretary from Redstone Arsenal.

She is preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Jerry, Ernest, Robert, James and Brandon Williams; and seven sisters, Gladys Harris, Ruby Box, Edna Sharp, Mary Birdsell, Ucil Williams, Lila Mae Williams and Jewel Williams.

She is survived by one brother, Gaither Williams (Lucille) of Decatur; one sister, Sylvia Wilburn of St. Joseph, Tennessee and sister-in-law, Annetta Williams of Leoma, Tennessee; caretakers niece, Yvonne Smith and nephews, Terry Pentecost and Richard Birdsell.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Decatur.
