DECATUR– The Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit an illegal narcotics operation at the Motel 6 in
Decatur. Here is how they describe the operation:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
During the past few months, the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit conducted an operation where illegal narcotics were purchased from the Motel 6 property located at 810 6th Avenue Northeast Decatur, AL.
Anthony Kent sold quantities of crack cocaine on five separate occasions and Sherrita Reporto sold crack cocaine on one occasion on the property.
Investigator Kirk Arrington of the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit obtained five Felony Warrants for Distribution of a Controlled Substance on Kent and one Felony Drug Warrant for Reporto for Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
On May 30, 2014, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Special Operations Unit made contact with Kent and Reporto on the property of the Motel 6.
Kent and Reporto were placed under arrest for the Felony Distribution Warrants.

During the course of the warrant executions, Officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from one of the motel rooms. Officers made contact with Sheron Hinton and Shaun Holley in the room. Officers located a quantity of marijuana and drug sale paraphernalia in the motel room.
Kent and Reporto were transported to the Decatur City Jail and will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $25,000.00 bond for Kent and a $5,000.00 total bond for Reporto.
Hinton and Holley were transported to the Decatur City Jail on a $1,000.00 bond each.”
