Ila D. Gunckle – Obituary

Ila D. Gunckle, 79, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at her residence. She was born February 3, 1934 to the late John Edgar Barron Sr. and the late Ila Grace Arndale Barron in Memphis, TN. She married her husband, Mr. Robert Gunckle on August 15, 1985. She was Mr. Gunckle’s “Southern Belle”, as he like to call her. She was member of the D.A.R., Eastern Star, an accomplished pianist and organist, where she played for many different Baptist churches over the years. She was also a choir director for many years. She was known as “Gigi” to her great grandchildren and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gunckle of Tremont, 1 Daughter, Victoria Lynn (Artis) Russell of Tremont, 3 Sons, Robert E. (Bonnie) Hinton Jr. of Crosby, TX, John Jeffery (Petra) Hinton of Sante Fe, TX, and Samuel Lee (Susan) Hinton of Houston, TX, 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Father, John Edgar Barron Sr., Mother, Ila Grace Barron, Brother, John Barron Jr.
