Ida Wylene Mahone Shubert, age 86, of Knoxville died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at Tennova Hospice Facility. Three children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive her. Wylene was born in Birmingham. She was the daughter of a Southern Railroad executive and the wife of a United Methodist Pastor so she moved many times in the Southeast before moving to Knoxville to be near her great grandchildren. She met her husband of 55 years, Clarence Ray Shubert at Birmingham Southern College, and dedicated her life to Christian service. Wylene was also an avid Alabama fan.
She is survived by daughters, Vickey Beard from Knoxville, Virginia Shubert from New York City and son, Dan Shubert from Birmingham. Her grandchildren are Amy Greene, Nicole Beard and Adam Shubert. A sister, LewJean Davis and brother, W.K. Mahone, Jr. survive her.
