Ida Miriam Gore, 92, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully Sunday. She was born in Gadsden, AL to Samuel Erwin Henry, Sr. and Flora Alice Hardin Henry, and was a lifelong resident of Huntsville. Mrs. Gore was one of the oldest members of Jackson Way Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gore was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Julian Thomas Gore, Sr.; daughter, Fannie Mae Gore; sisters, Geneva Michael and Inez Otwald; brothers, Samuel E. Henry Jr., Charles Henry and Douglas Henry; and son-in-law, Tim A. Craig.
Survivors include her daughter, Janice Gore Craig of Athens; sons, Julian T. Gore Jr. of Union Grove, Doug Gore of Brentwood, TN, and Phillip Gore of Huntsville; grandchildren, Elizabeth Burleson (David) of Raymond, MS, Nicole Ross Colle (Ronnie) of Crockett, TX, Sara Jane Gokmen (Kemper) of Madison, Olivia Grace Gore of Huntsville, and Jonathan Gore, Tommy Gore and Theresa Gore, all of Tuscaloosa; sister, Sarah Bailey of Huntsville; sister-in-law, Irene Gore of Denver; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and caregiver, Kay Elkin
The family wishes to give a special thank you to Kindred Hospice, especially to her nurse, Deborah and assistant, Maddie.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with Brian Murray officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson Way Baptist Church.
