DECATUR-The city of Decatur will welcome hundreds of youth soccer players and their families from across the state of Alabama this weekend as they compete in the Alabama Soccer Association (ASA) State Cup Final Four tournament.
The ASA tournament is a top level qualifying event for 13U and 14U (boys and girls) age groups. Winners advance to regional tournaments where an invitation to the US Youth Soccer National Championships – the crown jewel of competitive youth soccer – is on the line.
The ASA State Cup Tournament is intended to provide teams a high level of competition for teams in 13U and 14U (boys and girls) age groups. The tournament decides which teams are state champions and will represent Alabama in the USYSA South Region Presidents Cup.
The tournament is set for May 5-7, 2023, at the Jack Allen Recreation Complex. There are no admission or parking charges for the event.
ASA is the governing body for all soccer clubs in Alabama who qualify to participate in these events under US Youth Soccer. For more information on the State Cup tournament, visit the ASA’s website at www.alsoccer.org.
The Jack Allen Recreation Complex contains 10 international size lighted fields with laser-graded certified sports turf and a computerized irrigation system.
