Funeral service for Hughes Holmes, 76, will be Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Stone officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hamby’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Holmes died on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1938, in Morgan County to Emern Argust Holmes, Sr. and Viola Clyde Maddux Holmes. He was a member of Hamby’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Holmes served in the United States Air Force and was formerly employed by the Morgan County School System as an HVAC Technician. He was preceded in death by a brother: Emern A Holmes, Jr.
In lieu of flowers: family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or donate blood in his memory.
