Hugh Ray Vandiver

Hugh Ray Vandiver, 79, of Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2026 from 12-2 pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel with a service to follow in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

He will be most remembered for the love he had for his family. He was a friend and mentor to many and always willing to help anyone he could. He loved his wife of 58 years, children and grandchildren more than anything. He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church for over 25 years, and showed his love for Jesus every day. He overcame much in his life including physical challenges and was a talented diesel mechanic. He was able to fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Vandiver; parents, Edward and Lizzie Vandiver; sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Lecie Green; brothers, Willie Vandiver, Archie Vandiver, John Vandiver, and G.W. Vandiver.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Britnell (Terry Gray) and Pat Tidwell, Christy Franks (Jason); grandchildren, Phoenix Britnell, Kyle Tidwell, Austin Bonnor (Catalina), J.R. Britnell (Jacylin), and Karly Tidwell (Ethan); sister, Libby Hester; also, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
