Hugh Grover Monday went to his heavenly home, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at the age of 73 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 46 years, 11 months, Donna Judd Monday. He was born and raised in Spring City, Tennessee. He was a proud graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1962. “Go Bulldogs!”
Hugh was a born again Christian and member of the First Baptist of Sheffield, Alabama. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Air Force. He was a retired electrical operator with the TVA. He enjoyed delivering meals with Meals on Wheels for several years.
Hugh is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Zimmerman of Spring City, Tennessee; brother, Charles Monday of Harriman, Tennessee, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Judd Wagnon of Sheffield, Alabama, and Barbara Judd Hustler (Bob) of Corinth, Mississippi; special friend, Linda Romine, from Donna’s childhood; many nieces and nephews, who Hugh and Donna loved to be with every chance they could; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Albra Evans Monday; sisters, Wanda and Linda; brother, Wendell; brothers-in-law, Stuart Wagnon and Harold Judd.
Hugh was a wonderful loving husband, son and brother and super-special, loving uncle. Hugh was living in a house divided but remained an adamant fan of all Tennessee sports. “Go Vols!”
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral services will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with nephew, Bro. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Donna and the family would like to thank Dr. Brad McAnally, Dr. Patel and Dr. Daugherty and nurses and staff of NW Alabama Cancer Center. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff on the PCU floor of Helen Keller Hospital.
