Hugh Edward Sherer, 83, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at home.Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from noon until 1 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Elder Gary Cordes will officiate.
He worked as a technician at AT&T for 38 years. He sang bass in the gospel quartet, The Traveleers, and sang solo. He was an avid fisherman. He was also a funeral director at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lois Sherer; and siblings, Carl Sherer and Carole Darby.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Sherer; children, Mark Sherer (Allison) and Michael Sherer (Caitlin McClune); grandchildren, Kieron Sherer-McClune, Mallory Coker and Katie Coker; and brothers, Tommy Sherer and Jimmy Sherer.
He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
